Is this product safe for me?

Shows ingredient safety and a personal safety verdict on supported shopping product pages.

Add to Chrome Connect account

What it does

On iHerb and Sephora product pages the extension reads the published ingredient list and asks SafeShelf for the same 0–100 score the website uses. If you are on Pro and have a health profile, it also returns Safe, Caution or Avoid with up to three reasons — for example “contains peanut oil — your allergy” or “retinol — flagged for pregnancy”.

What it does not do

How to install

  1. Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store (Edge uses the same package).
  2. Open Connect the extension while signed in to SafeShelf.
  3. Confirm. The site issues a token; the extension stores only that token.
  4. Visit an iHerb or Sephora product page. A badge appears next to the title on a cache hit, or after the first analysis of the ingredient text.

Free vs Pro

Free accounts see the universal score and today’s remaining checks (the same daily limit as the website: 5 for a registered free account). The personal Safe / Caution / Avoid verdict is a Pro feature. SafeShelf Pro is $59.99/year.

FAQ

Which sites are supported?

iHerb (iherb.com) and Sephora (sephora.com, sephora.fr) product pages only.

Does a cached product cost a Gemini call?

No. A hit on (site, product id, ingredient-text hash) returns the stored analysis. A new Gemini call runs only on a cache miss when ingredient text was extracted.

How do I disconnect?

Use Disconnect in the extension popup. That revokes the token on the server and clears it from local storage.

Is this medical advice?

No. Informational only — not medical advice. Read the privacy policy for what the extension sends.
